About Alamitos Beach Tile Contractor
A local crew. Specific work. A few neighborhoods done right.
What We Do and Where We Do It
Alamitos Beach Tile Contractor is a small, owner-operated tile contracting business based at 300 Oceangate in Long Beach. We focus on Alamitos Beach, Downtown Long Beach, and Belmont Shore — three neighborhoods that each have their own housing character, access constraints, and design sensibilities. Staying tight geographically means we know the territory: the parking logistics on Second Street in Belmont Shore, the elevator-only access in downtown high-rises, the salt-air conditions that affect grout and sealers in beachside condos.
Our work covers four core areas: residential tile installation across floors, walls, and entryways; commercial tile for offices, restaurants, and mixed-use spaces; full bathroom and shower tile including waterproofing; and kitchen backsplash installation from subway to marble slab. We handle the whole job — surface prep, substrate work, layout, tile setting, grouting, and sealing — rather than subcontracting pieces out.
How We Approach the Work
The part of tile work most homeowners don't see is the prep. A well-set tile floor starts with a flat, clean, structurally sound substrate. We check for deflection, address any soft spots, apply uncoupling membrane or cement board as the job requires, and only then begin layout. That sequence matters. Skipping it produces hollow spots, cracked grout, and tiles that come loose within a year or two — problems we're often called in to fix after another installer cut corners.
Layout planning is where the craft shows up most clearly. Before a single tile goes down, we dry-lay the field to confirm the pattern, verify that cut tiles at the perimeter are balanced and not slivers, and mark the layout lines. On large-format tile (anything over 18 inches), we back-butter every piece in addition to troweling the substrate, because full coverage is the only way to prevent hollow spots.
Working Around Real Life
We schedule Monday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, because the people who call us have jobs and families and can't always take a week off to accommodate a tile crew. We work in phases where possible — tiling the shower first so a bathroom remains usable, or completing one section of a kitchen floor before moving to the next — and we clean up at the end of every working day.
If you have a project in Alamitos Beach, Downtown Long Beach, or Belmont Shore, call us at (626) 602-3062 or send a message through our contact form. We'll follow up within one business day with a time to come look at the space.
What Matters to Us
Precision in Layout
Grout lines that stay consistent from wall to wall. Patterns that land centered and balanced. This is the difference between tile work that looks installed and tile work that looks designed.
Proper Waterproofing
In wet areas we use a redundant waterproofing approach — membrane at the substrate, sealer at the grout — because water damage behind tile is invisible until it's expensive.
Scheduling That Works
Seven days a week means we can start a bathroom on Saturday morning and keep your household on schedule, not ours.
Straight Communication
We tell you what the job actually involves before we start, not after. If the substrate needs work, we say so upfront. No surprises mid-project.
